Serpent Obscene are from Sweden and this is their third album so far. They are playing an oldfashioned, yet very interesting mixture of Thrash and Death. Mostly a Thrash band, the band manages to create some of the 80's atmosphere into their music, while their Death influences make the result even more aggressive and welcome. The sound is groovy enough, with a tight rhythm section, nice melodies here and there, headbanging bridges and supersonic speeds. The songs are good enough, with some nice ideas, but also enough parts that remind their influences, with copying or repeating themselves though. The album really brings memories back, and it's well performed and well written, something that will please the fans of the band.
